Experience the beauty of Native America at Gathering Tribes. Since 1991, Gathering Tribes has featured hand-made jewelry, fine crafts and art made by Indigenous artisans of the Americas. Award-winning jeweler, artist and actor, Michael Horse, is the resident artist and visitors may find him at the gallery on many weekends during the year working on a ledger painting. Many visitors are surprised to recognize him from his many roles in film and television, including as Deputy Hawk in "Twin Peaks".
We feature an extensive collection of jewelry from Zuni, Navajo, Hopi and Kewa, as well as one of the best collection of Zuni fetish carvings in the state. You will also find pottery from Mata Ortiz, Acoma, Kewa and Navajo. The hand-carved and brightly painted whimsical wooden carvings from Zapotec artisans brighten the window. You will also find an excellent selection of books by Native American authors, drums, flutes, music, dream catchers and much more.
Please go to www.GatheringTribes.com to receive notices about upcoming special artisan, literary and cultural events such as the annual Dia de los Muertos ceremony, Native American Women Poetry Night, and visiting artisans.
Gathering Tribes is Native American woman owned and operated. We look forward to welcoming you.
